Important Notice

Account deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted and the 14-day cancellation window passes, your data cannot be recovered.

Please withdraw any outstanding wallet balance before proceeding. For general privacy information, see our Privacy Policy.

How to Delete Your Account

There are two ways to request account deletion. The in-app method is the fastest and recommended option.

  • Delete via the App: Access your account settings directly in the ThinkRich Naija app and submit your deletion request instantly.
  • Delete via Email: Send a deletion request to our support team. We will process it within 30 days and confirm by email once complete.
Step-by-Step: In-App Deletion

Follow these steps inside the ThinkRich Naija App:

  1. Open the App and log in: Launch the ThinkRich Naija app on your device and log in to the account you wish to delete.
  2. Go to Settings: Tap your profile icon, then tap Settings from the menu.
  3. Open Account Settings: Inside Settings, tap Account. Scroll down to the Account Management section.
  4. Tap “Delete Account”: Select Delete Account. You will be shown a summary of what will be deleted and asked to confirm.
  5. Confirm your decision: Enter your password or complete a verification step to confirm the deletion request. Your account will be scheduled for deletion.
  6. 14-day cancellation window: You have 14 days to cancel your deletion request if you change your mind. After 14 days, deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Delete via Email Request

If you no longer have access to the app or prefer to request deletion by email, send a message to info@thinkrichnaija.com.

  • Subject: Account Deletion Request
  • Include: Your registered full name, email address, and the reason for deletion if you wish to provide one.
  • Timeline: We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, sending confirmation to your registered email address.
What Happens to Your Data

When your account is permanently deleted, the following information is removed from active systems:

  • Your name, email, phone number, and profile photo.
  • Password and authentication credentials.
  • Quiz history and session records.
  • Points, badges, achievements, leaderboard rankings, and streaks.
  • Referral links and referral tracking data.
  • Push notification tokens.
  • Preferences, settings, app activity logs, and contestant application data.

Some data may be retained only where there is a legal or compliance basis:

  • Financial transaction records: retained for 6 years under Nigerian financial regulations.
  • Prize disbursement records: retained for tax and audit compliance.
  • Fraud and abuse records: retained where necessary to prevent re-registration by banned users.
  • Anonymised, aggregated analytics: no longer linked to your identity.

Retained data is stored securely in isolated systems, accessible only to authorised personnel for compliance purposes, and is not used for any commercial activity.

Before You Delete: Wallet Balance

If your in-app wallet has an outstanding balance, please withdraw your funds before submitting a deletion request.

  • You can initiate a withdrawal at any time before your deletion request, provided you meet the minimum withdrawal threshold.
  • Any balance not withdrawn within 30 days of the deletion request date will be forfeited and cannot be reclaimed after the deletion is finalised.
  • If you have a pending withdrawal already in process, it will be completed before your account is deleted.
  • We are not responsible for balances lost due to delayed deletion requests where adequate notice was given.

To withdraw your balance, open the App, go to Wallet › Withdraw, and follow the instructions to transfer your balance to your registered bank account.
